Entry Requirements

Students must be 18 years old or older at the time of registration. The students who have recently been in education, the entry profile is likely to include one of the following:

  • A BTEC Level 3 qualification in a related subject.
  • A GCE Advanced Level profile that demonstrates strong performance in a relevant subject or adequate performance in more than one GCE subject. This profile is likely to be supported by GCSE grades at A* to C (or equivalent and/or 9 to 4 (or equivalent) in subjects such as maths and English
  • Other related Level 3 qualifications
  • An Access to Higher Education Diploma awarded by an approved further education institution
  • An international equivalent of the above qualifications.
  • College may also consider applicants’ prior learning when considering their acceptance on a Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals through Recognition of Prior Learning.
  • English language requirements for students for BTEC HND Programmes
  • Mature applicants may be admitted based on work experience and or admission test. Such students will have to demonstrate a broad and diverse range of achievements. This typically includes substantial work experience, which may be both paid and unpaid, as well as a suite of professional qualifications relevant to their specific field of employment.

English Language Requirements

Pearson BTEC Higher National qualification in Business that is taught and assessed completely in English and requires a certain level of English language skills. Students who are non-native English speakers and who have not undertaken their final two years of schooling in English can demonstrate capability in English at a standard equivalent to the levels identified below before being recruited to the programme where the programme is both taught and assessed in English:

  • Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) level B2
  • PTE 51
  • IELTS 5.5; Reading and Writing must be at 5.5
  •  or equivalent national standards.
